Nissan LEAF Q&A

WHERE ARE ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS LOCATED?

Top Top BIEKE P, TN

HOME IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE. WE USE IT 99% OF THE TIME.

When I charge on the go, it’s usually at shopping areas. Middle TN is set with chargers. We see them more than we ever need them.

ALL OVER THE PLACE. DRUG STORES. SUPERMARKETS. MALLS.

Top Top KATHLEEN S, CA

L2 STATIONS ARE GETTING QUITE COMMON NOW

in places like car dealers, Walgreens, government agencies like parks, and colleges. DCQC is less available. I know of only 2 somewhat near me in LA.

GROCERY STORES, PHARMACIES, RESTAURANTS.

Restaurants are my favorite. Eat while charging. Win for all.

Top Top BRYCE N, OR

I'VE PLUGGED INTO LEVEL 1 (WALL PLUGS!) AT LOTS OF PLACES.

That's the beauty of an EV, even if a L2 or better isn't available, you're never far from fuel...just need a normal wall outlet. Convenient!

PARKING GARAGES, DRUGSTORES, MALLS, SOME PRIVATE BUSINESSES.

Top Top KEITH L, CA

IT IS PRETTY RANDOM.

Municipal facilities, shopping centers, universities. In a dense urban area like LA it's never a problem finding a convenient location.

Top Top JOHN B, MN

THE EASIEST TO FIND ARE AT NISSAN DEALERS.

There is ONE station at the Mall of America (they really need to add more!), and a bunch scattered in the metro area of Minnesota.

WE HAVE THEM ALL OVER IN AUSTIN

but I know I can find one at Whole Foods or Central Market. Libraries are a good place as well and some city parking garages.

Top Top SANDY D, TX

THERE IS A WHOLE FOODS HALF WAY BETWEEN WORK AND HOME, SO IF I EVER NEED TO, I CAN STOP BY THERE TO CHARGE.

Honestly, I rarely charge anywhere but home because I just don't need to. I have also noticed charging stations at many of the local city/state offices.

Top Top SCOTT L, CA

WE HAVE 6 AT MY OFFICE,

there are probably 100 (ChargePoint [*] reports 55 in downtown San Jose alone) or more (including 440 volt) located within less than 10 miles of my office.

Top Top PAT M, HI

THERE IS ONE AT A SMALL SHOPPING CENTER JUST A BLOCK FROM MY HOME.

I often charge early in the morning (5am) before the stores are open while I walk the dog and run.

Nissan Leaf Electric Dictionary ICED

When an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle uses EV infrastructure. Whether it’s stealing an EV parking spot, or blocking a charger, sometimes gas cars get in the way.

WE HAVE DONE A LOT MORE SHOPPING AT FRED MEYER

than we used to because of their free DC fast chargers.

Top Top DAVID L, TX

I AM A FIREFIGHTER AND AT THE STATION FOR 24 HOURS AT A TIME.

It's very easy to plug in with the 110 volt charger and let the city pay for my charge!

Top Top KATHLEEN S, CA

WE PARTICIPATE IN PLUGSHARE

and have charged at fellow owners' L2 and family's L1 when needed.

EV Term The PlugShare app covers over 19,000 stations, letting you locate the charging station nearest to you and then pay for your session with your phone.

I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL DOWNTOWN

some at malls, and always at the Nissan dealers around town.

Top Top AMY B.R, TX

WE HAVE CHARGERS IN PLACES YOU WOULDN'T EXPECT

like parks, but mainly in the city of Houston.

Top Top DAVID M, FL

MCDONALDS, NCSU (UNIVERSITY), SOME GOVERNMENT BUILDINGS OR DOWNTOWN PARKING LOTS.

Biggest problem is the parking spot is often too good and an ICE parks there instead, or worse, another LEAF parks there but doesn't charge.
