Nissan LEAF Q&A
WERE THERE ANY DRIVING CONDITIONS YOU WERE IMPRESSED YOUR NISSAN LEAF COULD HANDLE?
THE LEAF’S ACCELERATION IMPRESSED ME. IT’S GREAT FOR MERGING ONTO HIGHWAYS.
Definitely better than my gas car!
HILLS, HILLS, HILLS.
I live in a rural area with lots of climbs, and there's no question that my LEAF scoots up them with more ease and authority than does my 6-cylinder truck.
I HAVE NO RETICENCE TO DRIVE THE LEAF ANYWHERE,
including on a dirt road, through mud, or through rain. We have beach environments here and front - wheel drive helps in the sand.
PASSING CARS ON THE FREEWAY OR HIGHWAYS.
I was worried about that. Also taking hills and our California mountain roads.
THE ABILITY TO CLIMB HILLS FROM A STANDSTILL
really cannot be matched by any gasoline powered car!
The modest power and 0-60 times for the LEAF are deceiving and would make one believe it would be scary to drive on the highway. However, when you realize that the power of the Nissan LEAF is much easier to control, and is always available instantly, you realize how scary it is driving a ICE car with a non-uniform power curve and an unpredictable and slow to shift transmission.
Internal Combustion Engine
