Nissan LEAF Q&A
HOW IS DRIVING A QUIET CAR DIFFERENT?
NO SHOUTING OVER ROAD NOISE, JUST TALKING.
I can have normal conversations with my wife where we talk about anything and everything! It makes it easier to enjoy music when we want that, too.
ITS REALLY NICE.
You don't have to turn the radio up as much and its way easier to talk on the phone.
MUSIC IS MUCH BETTER.
Driving in isolated areas like the mountains or beaches with the windows down is much more peaceful. Having a phone conversation while driving is easier and less awkward.
SOUNDS AROUND YOU ARE SO MUCH LOUDER.
I was used to a quiet car since I had driven a Prius for years. This was even more so and it took getting used to the road noise and gas engines around you.
WHAT I'VE LOVED ABOUT MY LEAF IS HOW PEACEFUL AND CALMING DRIVING CAN BE NOW.
Without the sound of the engine revving I feel like I sort of float along my journey
I'D STARTED WEARING SOME LIGHT EARPLUGS IN MY OLD CAR
because I felt like my ears were tired when I got to work or home. With the LEAF, I don't feel like I need to. I just listen to podcasts in the car.
IF I SING IN THE CAR, THE CAR NEXT TO ME CAN HEAR ME.
THE RAIN HITTING THE CAR SOUNDS DIFFERENT.
That's what I notice the most. And the beeping while reversing is hysterical. It makes me laugh every time. Beep, beep, beep.
NO NEED TO TURN STEREO UP.
Internal Combustion Engine
A vehicle with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) that runs on gasoline.
I'VE LET SOME FRIENDS AND FAMILY DRIVE IT.
They are surprised by how normal it feels, how quiet it is, and how quickly it accelerates.
WE APPRECIATE THE LEAF’S QUIETNESS MOST WHEN DRIVING AROUND IN NATURE.
We just enjoy it more and are actually able to get closer to animals. My diesel truck now feels like a sensory overload.
