An income tax credit of zero to $1,000 (possibly $30,000) for the cost of qualified alternative fuel vehicle refueling property. This credit is scheduled to expire December 31, 2013.

New Qualified Plug-In Electric Drive Motor Vehicle Credit

An income tax credit of zero to $7,500 for the purchase of a new qualified plug-in electric drive motor vehicle.

Electric Vehicle Purchase Rebate

Rebate of zero to $2,500 per vehicle to be claimed by individuals and businesses. Although the project is in effect through 2015, it is anticipated that funding will not be sufficient to allow this. Therefore, rebates are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Of the fiscal year 2011 through 2013 funding, total funds of $4,319,923 remain as of March 31, 2013.

Electric Vehicle Car Insurance Discount

Insurance discounts of zero to 10% to be claimed by the owner of an electric vehicle.

Single Occupancy HOV Lane

Unlimited use of HOV lanes by vehicles with White or Green Clean Air Vehicle sticker. The program is scheduled to expire December 31, 2014.

A discount rate is offered for electricity used to charge Electric Vehicles during off-peak times.

Pacific Gas & Electric Rate Reduction

A discount rate is offered for electricity used to charge Electric Vehicles during off-peak times.

San Diego Gas and Electric Rate Reduction

San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) offers discounted rates to customers for electricity used to charge EVs or qualified compressed natural gas fueling facilities.

Free Metered Parking: Sacramento

Sacramento offers free parking to individuals or small businesses certified by the city's Office of Small Business Development that own or lease EVs with an EV parking pass in designated downtown parking garages and surface lots. Free EV charging is also provided in several parking garages.

LADWP Electric Vehicle Home Charger Rebate Program

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) provides rebates of up to $2,000 to residential customers who purchase or lease a new electric vehicle and install Level II EVSE with a separate time-of-use meter at their home.
