YOUR GEAR GOES UP HERE
Built out of burly, construction-grade aluminum, the roof rack has a capacity of up to 150 pounds. [*] Attach the available gear box to the rack and you can keep your wet and dirty stuff out of the cab. For those nighttime adventures, flip on the available off-road lights to help guide your way on even the darkest trails.
REACH FOR THE TOP
Rear side bumper steps
Bikes, boards, even boats…whatever it is you have up on the roof rack, bumper steps on each side of the tailgate make getting things on (or off) the rack a cinch.
LOCK IT DOWN
Utili-track® Cargo Channel System [*]
Now this is how to handle your gear. The available Utili-track® Cargo Channel System has two channels built into the floor, two more built into the ceiling, and together they hold 4 solid, adjustable, sliding cleats. A hook in each sidewall makes for 10 anchor-points you can use to tie-down pretty much anything you’ll be carrying back there.
Cargo Area Under-Floor Storage
This under-floor storage hold gives you yet another place to store more stuff. Is your gear wet? Is it dirty? No problem. The whole Easy Clean® cargo area is built to handle it, with sturdy surfaces that are quickly wiped down.
OPEN IT UP
60/40 Split Fold-Down Seats
Cargo versatility is right behind you. The standard 60/40 split fold-down seatbacks allow for a lot more options and a bigger cargo area with room enough for longer items. [*]
Xterra’s heavy-duty steel suspension includes a double wishbone and stabilizer bar up front, and a rigid leaf spring in the back. This tough suspension soaks up even the nastiest rocks and roughest washboard roads.
Hill Descent Control
Hill descent control makes going down steep grades more manageable. Flip the switch, ease your foot off the accelerator, and this system automatically adjusts your speed and brake pressure to help keep you going at a controlled speed, freeing you up to concentrate on navigating difficult off-road situations.
Hill Start Assist
Hill start assist works on the uphill swing to help prevent rolling backward when you’re starting from a stop on an incline. This system applies the brakes for a few moments, allowing you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Electronic Locking Rear Differential
When 4x4 mode just isn’t enough, flip the switch to activate the electronic locking rear differential. This ultimate off-road feature delivers equal power to both rear wheels to boost traction and help keep your truck moving forward.

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
When it comes to tire pressure, TPMS takes away the guesswork. Using an icon on your dash, the system notifies you when tires aren't properly inflated. [*]
Engage reverse, and the available RearView Monitor is there to assist you. A camera on the rear of the vehicle helps you see what's directly behind you, on the dash-mounted screen in front of you. Because it’s nice to have a little back-up when you’re backing up. [*]
Automatic On/Off Headlights
Available Automatic On/Off Headlights respond to light conditions outside, turning on or off when necessary, and leaving you to concentrate on the road ahead.
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) & Traction Control System (TCS)
When it detects oversteer or understeer, VDC can reduce engine power and apply brake pressure to specific wheels. Working with VDC, TCS can sense rear-wheel spin and reduce throttle to help keep you on your steered path. [*]
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) & Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
In sudden-braking situations, ABS pumps the brakes quickly to help prevent wheel lockup and help you maintain control, while EBD monitors weight distribution and adjusts rear brake force to compensate for added weight from passengers, or cargo.
Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS)
The AABS includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant classification sensor. Their inflation rate adjusts based on crash severity and seat belt usage. [*]
Supplemental Air Bags
Built into the front seats, two side-impact supplemental air bags move with you as you adjust your seating position. Above, roofmounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags with rollover sensors help provide head protection for all outboard occupants. [*]
Front-seat Active Head Restraints (AHR)
Front-seat Active Head Restraints help reduce the chances of whiplash injuries to front-seat occupants by moving up and forward during certain rear-end collisions.
LATCH System (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children)
LATCH is another way we're working to keep children safe. The system lets you secure LATCH-compatible child restraints without having to use seat belts or a locking chip.
