YOUR GEAR GOES UP HERE
Roof Rack
Built out of burly, construction-grade aluminum, the roof rack has a capacity of up to 150 pounds. [*] Attach the available gear box to the rack and you can keep your wet and dirty stuff out of the cab. For those nighttime adventures, flip on the available off-road lights to help guide your way on even the darkest trails.
REACH FOR THE TOP
Rear side bumper steps
Bikes, boards, even boats… whatever it is you have up on the roof rack, bumper steps on each side of the tailgate make getting things on (or off) the rack a cinch.
LOCK IT DOWN
Utili-track® Cargo Channel System
Now this is how to handle your gear – the available Utili-track® system has two channels built into the floor, two more built into the ceiling, and together they hold 8 solid, adjustable, sliding cleats. A hook in each sidewall makes for 10 anchor-points you can use to tie-down pretty much anything you’ll be carrying back there.
SECRET STASH
Cargo Area Under-Floor Storage
This under-floor storage hold gives you yet another place to store more stuff. Is your gear wet? Is it dirty? No problem. The whole Easy Clean® cargo area is built to handle it, with sturdy surfaces that are quickly wiped down.
OPEN IT UP
60/40 Split Fold-Down Seats
Cargo versatility is right behind you. The standard 60/40 split fold-down seatbacks allow for a lot more options and a bigger cargo area with room enough for longer items. [*]
Off-road Suspension
Xterra’s heavy-duty steel suspension includes a double wishbone and stabilizer bar up front, and a rigid leaf spring in the back. This tough suspension soaks up even the nastiest rocks and roughest washboard roads.
Hill Descent Control
Hill descent control makes going down steep grades more manageable. Flip the switch, ease your foot off the accelerator, and this system automatically adjusts your speed and brake pressure to help keep you going at a controlled speed, freeing you up to concentrate on navigating difficult off-road situations.
Hill Start Assist
Hill start assist works on the uphill swing to help prevent rolling backward when you’re starting from a stop on an incline. This system applies the brakes for a few moments, allowing you enough time to switch from the brake pedal to the accelerator.
Electronic Locking Rear Differential
When 4x4 mode just isn’t enough, flip the switch to activate the electronic locking rear differential. This ultimate off-road feature delivers equal power to both rear wheels to boost traction and help keep your truck moving forward.

Advanced Air Bag System (AABS)
Nissan Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) includes dual-stage supplemental front air bags with seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor. The inflation rate of these dual-stage air bags adjusts depending on crash severity and seat belt usage. [*]
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) with Traction Control System (TCS)
For better rear-wheel grip when accelerating, the Traction Control System senses wheel-spin and automatically helps reduce engine output and/or brakes the spinning wheel to help give you better footing. Working with the Traction Control System, VDC compares vehicle cornering performance to the driver’s input, adjusting power levels and applying appropriate brake pressure to individual wheels to help correct oversteer or understeer. [*]
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD)
If you engage in emergency steering action during braking, ABS helps you maintain control by helping to prevent wheel lockup. The Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD) system constantly monitors weight distribution and adjusts rear brake force for more balanced braking.
Zone Body Construction with Front and Rear Crumple Zones
Xterra features Zone Body Construction with front and rear crumple zones and steel side-door guard beams. A reinforced steel-frame structure helps maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment, while crumple zones absorb collision energy.
