Charging Timer

The Charging Timer allows you to plug your Nissan LEAF into a charger but not engage charging until a set time range. This feature is operated via the NissanConnect EV & Services app. This will allow you to charge the vehicle during off-peak hours when electricity is typically less costly. [[3880]]

Charge Complete Notification

If your Nissan LEAF charging is complete or interrupted, NissanConnect EV will let you know you with an automatic email, text message and/or push notification. [[3880]]

Li-ion Battery Warmer Status

Check the on/off status of your Nissan LEAF's Battery Warmer via the NissanConnect EV & Services app or MyNISSAN Owner Portal. The Li-ion Battery Warmer Status feature automatically warms the battery if its temperature falls to 4°F (-20°C) or colder. [[3880]]

What is the difference between the NissanConnect® EV & Services app and the MyNISSAN app?

The NissanConnect® EV & Services app is designed exclusively to manage the unique features of the Nissan LEAF, while the MyNISSAN app helps owners of all other Nissan vehicles—including the ARIYA—get the most out of their ownership experience.

Where in the vehicle can I view information about the charging status of the battery? (LEAF)

Battery charge information is displayed in the dashboard of your Nissan LEAF. The following information is displayed:
• Current battery charge percentage.
• Whether the battery is being charged.
• How much time is required for a full charge based upon the type of charger being used (i.e. Trickle, Standard Quick).
• Estimated driving range for the vehicle, based on charging state.

How do I turn on automatic charging station map updates? (LEAF)

Follow these steps for your Nissan LEAF:
1. Go to the vehicle and Touch the [Info].
2. Then Touch [NissanConnect® EV & Services].
3. Then Touch "NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings".
4. Then verify that [Auto-Update Stations] ON label is activated.

NOTE: You must be enrolled in NissanConnect® EV & Services powered by SiriusXM® to use this service.

When do charging stations automatically update on my map and how large of an area does the update cover? (LEAF)

There are 5 scenarios when charging stations will automatically update for your Nissan LEAF:
1. Monthly: Update covers a 62x62 square mile area around home.
2. New home location set: Update covers a 62x62 square mile area around new home.
3. Charge warning light: Update covers a 31x31 square mile area around the car.
4. Power on and every 20 miles: Update covers a 22x22 square mile area around the car.
5. Every 12 miles traveled: Update covers a 22x22 square mile area around the car.

How do I manually update charging stations on my map? (LEAF)

Follow these steps for your Nissan LEAF:
1. Go to the vehicle and Touch [Info].
2. Touch [Zero Emission].
3. Then Touch [Update Stations].
4. Touch the desired location [Near Current Location, Near Destination, Near Home, Near a location on the Map].

Can I start fast charging from the website or smartphone app? (LEAF)

No, fast charging for your Nissan LEAF can only be started by the quick charger, not the vehicle. Only trickle charge and standard charge can be started remotely using NissanConnect® EV & Services for your Nissan LEAF.

Why does the car say no new charging stations available when I request a manual update? (LEAF)

The manual update for your LEAF uses the same charging station map data as the automatic update. If you already have automatic update turned on and you request a manual update within your home area there will be no new information.

I am not receiving "Charge Complete" notifications. How do I fix this? (LEAF)

Follow these steps for your Nissan LEAF:
1. Go to the vehicle and touch [Info].
2. Touch [NissanConnect® EV & Services].
3. Touch [NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings].
4. Touch [Charging Messages].
5. Verify that "Send Charging Status to Data Center" ON label is activated.

I am not receiving "Plug-in Reminder" notifications. How do I fix this? (LEAF)

Follow these steps for your Nissan LEAF:
1. Go to the vehicle and press the Info button.
2. Touch [NissanConnect® EV & Services].
3. Touch [NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings].
4. Touch [Charging Messages].
5. Verify that [Send unplugged status to Data Center] ON label is activated.
6. Verify [Time delay for unplugged messages] is set to your preference.
7. Touch [Saved locations for unplugged messages] and verify locations where you would like to receive plug in reminder are saved.

Why did my start charge request fail? (LEAF)

Start charge request for your Nissan LEAF may fail due to any of the following reasons:
• Trickle/normal cable unplugged.
• Power not available from charging station.
• Vehicle ignition is turned on.
• Poor cellular signal reception at vehicle's location.
• Vehicle ignition has not been turned on in 14 days or more.
• Vehicle may already be fully charged.
