  1. What is an Over the Air Update?

    In select equipped vehicles, Nissan offers wireless Over the Air Updates. Over the air updates allow us to provide you with the most up to date experience for your Nissan vehicle. Keep your system up to date by enabling Auto Updates in your System Menu and ensure that you’re up to date, while still allowing you to be on the go.

  2. What is included in an Over the Air update?

    Over the Air updates can include advances in technology, identified bug fixes, and more all while keeping you up to date, wirelessly.

  3. How do I set my vehicle up to receive Automatic Over the Air updates?

    If equipped with Over the Air update capability:

    1. From your NissanConnect System screen, press Menu
    2. Press Info
    3. Navigate to System Information
    4. Touch Software Update
    5. Under Update Method confirm that the screen says “Auto”

    When automatic Over The Air updates are enabled, you will receive a popup message on your NissanConnect system screen when a new update is available. Select “Yes” to accept the update.

  4. How do I manually update my system using Over the Air updates?

    For most NissanConnect systems, you can access system updates manually by following the steps below:

    1. From your NissanConnect System screen, press Menu
    2. Press Info
    3. Navigate to System Information
    4. Touch Software Update
    5. Touch Start Software Update
    6. Touch Check for Updates.  If an update is available, please follow the instructions on your screen.  If there is no update available your screen will show a message stating “This software version is the latest version.”

  5. I’m currently receiving an Over the Air Update, but when trying to connect to my Wireless Apple CarPlay, am unable to connect. How do I connect my Apple device while also continuing my Over the Air Update?

    The wireless features in your vehicle, including Wireless Apple CarPlay, Over the Air Updates, and Wi-Fi Hotspot require use of your in-vehicle modem (if equipped). In order to continue using the features of Apple CarPlay, while utilizing other wireless features of your vehicle such as Wi-Fi Hotspot and Over the Air Update, please connect your Apple device to the provided USB connection located in your center console.
