Destination Send to Car/Destination Download is accessed from the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal. You can search for various Points of Interest and access them directly in your vehicle. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system through the NissanConnect® Services Menu to download your destination.

If available, Google Send to Car enables you to search for Points of Interest on the Google Maps website and send them directly to your Nissan Navigation System. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system through the NissanConnect® Services Menu to download your destination.

Google Send to Car is not available on all models. Google Send to Car may require subscription consent to activate. Certain services, including Google Send to Car, are provided by independent companies not within Nissan's or its corporate parents’ control. Terms of the NissanConnect® Services Subscription Agreement apply.

Journey Planner allows you to plan road trips in advance before you leave home. Using the MyNISSAN Owner Portal, click the NissanConnect® Services link and select the Destinations tab. Enter your starting point and end point, plus up to four waypoints you’d like to visit along the way. Journey Planner will determine your route, calculate driving distance and time, then send your journey seamlessly to the Nissan Navigation System. Once sent, you will need to sync your navigation system feed through the NissanConnect® Services Menu to download your journey.

Alarm Notification will notify you if your Nissan's factory installed alarm has been triggered. This is especially useful when you are out of the alarm’s audible range. If you have selected to receive Alarm Notifications, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method: email, text message and/or push.

Boundary Alert helps you monitor your Nissan when someone else is behind the wheel. Set a geographical driving boundary on the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal to recieve an alert if your Nissan arrives or departs your set boundary.

To use Boundary Alert, select an address, enter the desired radius of the boundary, and choose to set arrival, departure, or both. Up to 10 active Boundary Alerts can be saved with the option to name each boundary. If your Nissan crosses a boundary while active, an alert is sent via your preferred notifcation method; email, text message and/or push. You can also set your preferences to display a notification pop-up in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have arrived or departed the authorized zone.

Curfew Alert allows you to establish and monitor the time and day when your Nissan is driven. If your Nissan is driven outside the scheduled periods of time, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push.

Curfew Alert can be established via your MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal. To use Curfew Alerts, name your alert, select the applicable days of the week and set the start and end times. You may set two Curfew Alerts at a time.
You can set your preferences to display a pop-up notification in the vehicle itself, to remind your secondary driver when the vehicle is driven outside the permitted curfew. 

No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.

The Maintenance Alert notifies you when a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) is triggered and an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push.

These alerts are posted on the MyNISSAN Owner Portal, and made available to you in your Nissan through both text display and audio alerts. 

In the Vehicle Health Report, you will receive a Scheduled Maintenance Notification to let you know whenever vehicle is due for service. 

Stay informed on how fast your Nissan is driven even when you're not behind the wheel. Set a speed threshold on the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal and you'll recieve an alert if your vehicle exceeds your established threshold. If the maximum speed is breached, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push. You can also set your preferences to display a pop-up notification in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver when they have exceeded the established speed threshold. The Speed Alert setting is created by you and does not take into account established speed limits.  

Valet Alert allows you to monitor your Nissan after you hand over your keys. If the vehicle leaves the preset radius, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method; email, text message and/or push.  You can manage the Valet Alert feature on the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal.

No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.

There is no notification within the vehicle. Only those drivers who have been set to receive notifications will be alerted.

The Vehicle Health Report provides you with a monthly performance evaluation and any recent malfunction alerts triggered by your Nissan. You can review the detailed report on the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal.

If you declined to allow Push notifications when you downloaded the MyNISSAN App, you will need to visit your device settings and enable Push notifications for NissanConnect Services. If you have enabled Push notifications on your device, you can choose to opt-in/opt-out of available feature notifications in the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal Preference Settings.

Accessing the NissanConnect® Services menu varies by model. It will be on your Home screen, or you will need to select the Info button or the Apps button.

You can access all of the NissanConnect® Services features through the MyNISSAN Owner Portal. However, downloading the MyNISSAN App is recommended for easy access to the safety, security and convenience features included in your package.

NissanConnect® Services uses a telematics control unit that is embedded in the vehicle, connecting to a compatible cellular network to access the suite of services. The Services work using wireless communication networks and the Global Positioning System ("GPS") satellite network. Not all NissanConnect® Services are available everywhere, particularly in remote or enclosed areas. The area in which you are driving may affect the service that can be provided, including but not limited to routing and GPS services such as our ability to determine your Vehicle's precise location. 

Automatic Collision Notification triggers a connection from the car to the NissanConnect® Services Emergency Response Center when the vehicle has been involved in a collision event and/or if the airbags have deployed.  A specially trained Response Specialist will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to the vehicle if requested, or if the occupant is unresponsive. The Response Specialist will remain on the line with the occupant of the vehicle until assistance arrives and can also notify the emergency contact on file. Automatic Collision Notification is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage. [[1189]]

If you find yourself in a dangerous situation or in need of emergency services, you can push the "SOS" button in your vehicle to connect to a NissanConnect® Services Response Specialist who will assist in the dispatch of emergency services to your vehicle's location. Emergency Call is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.[[1189]]

If you need Roadside Assistance, just touch the headset icon on your Nissan display to access the voice menu, and say the words “Roadside Assistance”. You’ll be connected to a Response Specialist who can assist with dispatching third-party services to your location. You can also contact Roadside Assistance using the MyNISSAN App.

Roadside Assistance is dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage. 

Using sophisticated technology, The Stolen Vehicle Locator feature can help pinpoint your vehicle's location and assist police in recovering it, in the unfortunate event that it is ever stolen.

In the event your Nissan is stolen, you will need to first alert the local police and file a stolen vehicle police report. Next, call NissanConnect® Services at 1-844-711-8100 with the police report number and request that the Stolen Vehicle Locator service be initiated on your vehicle. For your safety, when your vehicle has been located, the location will only be reported to law enforcement.

You can contact NissanConnect® Services to check the status of an existing Stolen Vehicle Locator request, request an extension, or initiate a new request. NissanConnect® Services will cease tracking after 14 days, or as soon as the vehicle location is known. Vehicles that have been reported stolen cannot be accessed through the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal.

When the vehicle's location is known, NissanConnect® Services will contact the law enforcement agency in the jurisdication where the vehicle has been located and advise authorities of its location. Your contact information will be provided to the law enforcement agency so that you can be notified after the vehicle has been successfully recovered. You can contact the local police at any time to check on the status of the stolen vehicle report. 

Driver distraction regulations may cause certain functions to be unavailable while driving. For example, keyboard entry is only available when the vehicle is stationary.

Yes. Vehicle climate controls can be controlled remotely to cool or warm the cabin via the NissanConnect® EV & Services App or the Owner's Portal.  The controls can be turned on immediately or set to a schedule. The current cabin temperature can also be viewed.  

Yes. You are able to turn off push notifications within the LEAF Owner's Portal via the Smart Phone section.

If your VIN is already associated to another account, Nissan will need to resolve this situation. Call 1-877-NO-GAS-EV for assistance.

Battery charge information is displayed in the dashboard.

The following information is displayed:

Current battery charge percentage
Whether the battery is being charged
How much time is required for a full charge based upon the type of charger being used (i.e. Trickle, Standard Quick) 
Estimated driving range for the vehicle, based on charging state

Follow these steps:

Go to the vehicle and Touch [Info]
Touch [Zero Emission]
Then Touch [Update Stations]
Touch the desired location [Near Current Location, Near Destination, Near Home, Near a location on the Map]

Follow these steps:

1. Log in to your owner portal account at https://owners.nissanusa.com/nowners/.
2. Click [NissanConnect EV] tab.
3. Scroll down and Click [Change Notification Preferences].
4. In the [NissanConnect EV Notifications Preferences] section, verify boxes are checked for [E-mail] next to notification types you would like to receive.
5. In [NissanConnect EV Notification Contacts] section verify your email address is entered correctly.
6. Click [Update] to save any updates you made.
7. Log in to your email account and check junk email folder and spam filter settings to confirm notification emails are not being blocked.

Follow these steps:

1. Click MENU Button then Info the "NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings" button on the owner portal to open the NissanConnect EV pop up window.
2. Click "Route Planner".
3. Click "Save Your Routes".
4. Your previously saved routes are listed on the left. Click the white circle next to the route you want to send to the car.
5. Click the green arrow on the right side under "All Info Feeds" to send the route. (Repeat steps to send up to 5 routes to your car.)
6. Go to the vehicle and Touch [Info] Next, go to the vehicle and press the zero emission button (lower right side next to navi screen).
7. Touch "NissanConnect® EV & Services".
8. Touch "All Information Feeds"
9. Touch "Route Planner"
10. Select the route you would like to set as a new destination

Owner portal: Use owner portal user name and password created during enrollment.

If you pre-ordered your Nissan LEAF®, this is the same as your Nissan LEAF® pre-order account.

Smart phone app: Use owner portal user name and password.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to the vehicle and Touch the [Info]
2. Then Touch [NissanConnect® EV & Services]
3. Then Touch "NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings"
4. Then verify that [Auto-Update Stations] ON label is activated.
 

NOTE: You must be enrolled in NissanConnect® EV & Services powered by SiriusXM® to use this service.

No, quick charge can only be started by the quick charger, not the vehicle. Only trickle charge and standard charge can be started remotely using NissanConnect® EV & Services.

Manual update uses the same charging station map data as the automatic update. If you already have automatic update turned on and you request a manual update within your home area there will be no new information.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to the vehicle and press the Info button
2. Touch [NissanConnect® EV & Services]
3. Touch [NissanConnect EV/Svcs. Settings]
4. Touch [Charging Messages]
5. Verify that [Send Charging Status to Data Center] ON label is activated.
6. Verify [Time delay for unplugged messages] is set to your preference.
7. Touch [Saved locations for unplugged messages] and verify locations where you would like to receive plug in reminder are saved. 

Start charge request may fail due to any of the following reasons:

Trickle/normal cable unplugged.
Power not available from charging station.
Vehicle ignition is turned on.
Poor cellular signal reception at vehicle's location.
Vehicle ignition has not been turned on in 14 days or more.
Vehicle may already be fully charged.

There are 5 scenarios when charging stations will automatically update:

1. Monthly - Update covers an area of 62 by 62 square miles centered at the home location.
2. When a new home location is set - Update covers an area of 62 by 62 square miles centered at the home location.
3. When charge warning light comes on - Update covers an area of 31 by 31 square miles centered around the car.
4. When power on and every 20 miles traveled - Update covers an area of 22 by 22 square miles centered around the car.
5. Every 12 miles traveled - Update covers an area of 22 by 22 square miles centered around the car.

18.64 by 18.64 square miles.

In-Vehicle Messaging reminds you to schedule maintenance appointments and provides important information about your Nissan like recall notices, Maintenance Indicator Light (MIL) alerts and monitoring alerts.

On September 29, 2015, we rebranded CARWINGS to NissanConnect® EV. NissanConnect® EV replaced the CARWINGS name not only on the smartphone app, but on all communications regarding Nissan LEAF telematics. However, for the 2016 Nissan LEAF, the telematics icon on the vehicles navigation screen will read NissanConnect® Services. Your Nissan LEAF is equipped with NissanConnect® EV features, which are unique from the NissanConnect® Services program.

No. You are only able to turn off push notifications through the NissanConnect®  EV app.

Charging stations automatically update every month. The vehicle will automatically check the NissanConnect® EV Data Center for a map update at the beginning of every month or when a new home location is set.

100 mile by 100 mile square centered at your home location.

Yes, if the battery state of charge gets down to 4kWh, it will initiate an automatic update of a 18.75 mile by 18.75 mile square centered on your current location.

Automatic update is 100 mile by 100 mile square centered on your home location. Manual update can be used if you travel outside your home area and need to find a charging station.

1. In the vehicle, press the zero emission button (lower right side next to navi screen).
2. Then touch Update Stations.
3. Then select location (near current location, destination, home, location on map).

With Roadside Assistance, you can be connected to a live Response Specialist who can request to send towing, mobile charging or other third-party services to your location. You can be connected to Roadside Assistance through the NissanConnect® EV & Services smartphone app, or by calling Roadside Assistance directly at 1-800-801-6161.

Services, including Roadside Assistance, are dependent on an operational device in the vehicle, and GPS and cellular coverage.

Start charge request may fail due to any of the following reasons:

Try the following steps

1. Have you enrolled in NissanConnect EV? If not, visit https://owners.nissanusa.com/nowners/ and click "create account" to sign up.

2. Have you entered your NissanConnect EV PIN and password to the vehicle? If not, visit https://owners.nissanusa.com/nowners/ and sign in. Then:
Click "Manage Vehicle"
Click "Edit Vehicle"
Write down your NissanConnect EV PIN and NissanConnect EV Password (case sensitive)
Turn on your Nissan LEAF
Accept terms and conditions in vehicle's navigation system (NAVI). Only required if you have not already accepted the terms and conditions in the NAVI.
Press the "Zero Emission" button on the console to the right of the touch screen.
Touch "NissanConnect Services"
Touch "NissanConnect Services Settings"
Touch "Sign In" then enter your NissanConnect EV PIN and password (case sensitive)
Touch "Send ID and password" then touch "Yes"

3. Does vehicle display error "No Service" when "Send ID and password" is pressed?
Check that the car is located in an area with good AT&T wireless signal and try again.
If vehicle still displays error "No Service," TCU may be turned off.
Return to the dealer and request to check the TCU.

4. Does vehicle display error "To use telematics service you need to create an account"?
Most likely cause is incorrectly entering NissanConnect Services EV PIN or Password.
Try to enter NissanConnect EV PIN and Password again; be careful to avoid mistyping and use correct upper and lower case.

5. Does vehicle display message "Account activated"?
Your NissanConnect EV services should not be functional.
Close and reopen your browser then log back in to your owner portal account.

Owner portal: Use owner portal user name and password created during enrollment. (If you pre-ordered your Nissan LEAF®, this is the same as your Nissan LEAF® pre-order account.)

Smart phone app: Use owner portal user name and password.

Vehicle: Use NissanConnect EV® PIN and Password. Sign in only required at initial set-up.

To find your NissanConnect EV® PIN and Password, visit https://owners.nissanusa.com/nowners/ and sign in. Then:
Click "Manage Vehicle"
Click "Edit Vehicle"
Click your vehicle's nickname

In the vehicle press the zero emission button (lower right side next to navi screen)
Then touch "NissanConnect Services"
Then touch "NissanConnect Services Settings"
Then verify that "Auto-Update Stations" ON label is activated.

NOTE: You must be enrolled in NissanConnect® EV to use this service.

Click the Launch NissanConnect® EV button on the owner portal to open NissanConnect® EV pop-up window. Then:
Click “Route Planner”
Click “Save Your Routes”
Your previously saved routes are listed on the left

Repeat steps to send up to 5 routes to your car

You can manually update the favorites in the car by doing the following:

Go to the vehicle and press the zero emission button (lower right side next to navi screen)
Touch "NissanConnect Services"
Touch "NissanConnect Services Settings"
Touch "Information Feed Setting"
Touch "Edit Feed List"
Touch "Update Feed List" then "Yes"

Favorite in the car will also be automatically updated once per day.

Hybrid Radio provides a richer listening experience, album art and lyrics, along with additional content, podcasts and live streaming. Hybrid Radio gives the user the ability to switch to the streaming version of the station currently playing and the option to listen to your favorite local radio station anywhere via broadcast or streaming.

Hybrid Radio requires an active subscription with NissanConnect® Services, and to be connected either to the In-Vehicle Data & Wi-Fi service, or a personal hotspot.

Nissan offers the primary users ability to grant someone temporary access to their Nissan vehicle through the 'Additional Driver' feature. The primary driver of the vehicle can invite up to 4 additional drivers to have their own MyNISSAN account. The primary driver chooses what settings the additional driver is allowed to access.

No, additional drivers will not have access to the Primary user's MyNISSAN account. The additional drivers will create their own account.

The primary user completes additional driver form in app; a link (text or email) will be sent to individual invited to be additional driver to create an account and download the MyNISSAN app for access as a mobile key. 

The primary user can easily remove an additional driver. Within the MyNISSAN app, under additional driver, locate the remove button by the additional drive profile name. Click on the remove button and the additional driver will be automatically removed.
