Nissan LEAF Q&A
HAS DRIVING AN ELECTRIC CAR MADE YOU MORE ECO-CONCIOUS?
I'VE ALWAYS THOUGHT ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT, BUT NOW I FEEL A LITTLE BETTER DOING MY PART.
I recycle, try to use very little water, but having a LEAF is a way to really see every day that I'm doing a little something.
MY WIFE KIND OF POKES FUN AT ME BECAUSE, IN THE PAST, I WOULD NOT GO OUT OF MY WAY TO RECYCLE.
Now, when I tell her that I am caring more about the environment (and now going out of my way to recycle) she laughs. The LEAF has definitely made me more environmentally-conscious.
ABOUT THE SAME AS BEFORE,
just happy to be able to drive free (solar panels) and not be part of the problem.
NOT REALLY, BUT I DO NOTICE THE STINKY FUMES FROM OTHER CARS MORE NOW.
IT ALLOWED ME TO, AND SO I DID.
I now buy 100% wind power from my utility to make it a truly green drive when I take it out.
IT MAKES YOU MUCH MORE AWARE OF THE DIFFERENT WAYS ICE VEHICLES AFFECT THE ENVIRONMENT.
It ranges from tailpipe pollution to even noise pollution. Could you imagine a downtown environment with just the whisper of all EVs driving around? I know we can't sit outside in my area. The noise plus the exhaust fumes just about make you sick.
I AM THINKING MORE ABOUT RENEWABLE ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION NOW THAT I'M USING A BIT MORE ELECTRICITY.
I HAVE BEEN ENVIRONMENTAL FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER.
So buying the LEAF was a natural thing to do. My home is all-electric and Geothermal. As soon as Dow Solar Shingles come to my area I will be getting those as well.
WE WANT TO HELP KEEP THE PLANET IN GOOD SHAPE FOR OUR CHILDREN.
Helping to develop this technology is one way we can do that. The gas savings is a great bonus when it's $4 a gallon!
