Nissan LEAF Q&A
DO YOU DRIVE MORE BECAUSE YOU DON’T PAY FOR GAS?
MY WIFE AND I DRIVE MY CAR (THE LEAF) MORE BECAUSE WE DON'T PAY FOR GAS.
So on weekends when we would normally drive hers, we are now driving the LEAF.
YES, I'LL TAKE THE OCCASIONAL FRIVOLOUS TRIP
or take multiple quick trips around town, whereas previously almost all my driving was with consolidation of trips in mind due to consideration of gas prices.
WE DRIVE A LOT MORE THAN IN THE PAST.
We had cut a lot of entertainment out of our budget just because the cost of the fuel. The instability of the price made it extremely difficult to budget for it. Gasoline was one of my biggest costs per month.
I THINK WE DO DRIVE A LITTLE MORE.
We used to consider the cost of gas when thinking about a day trip to Charlotte, but now, as long as there's a place to charge when we get there, it doesn't really factor in. The freedom to not consider gas cost as part of a day trip is really nice.

Over the last five years my "for fun" road trips have been significantly reduced. Just this month we went camping with our LEAF with friends instead of taking their Subaru wagon. 350 miles round trip to visit Detroit Lake, OR using fast chargers along the way. Got to share the EV grin with two more potential converts. Driving an EV in the wilderness is awesome, by the way.
EV Term The irrepressible expression that comes over your face when you’re driving the LEAF®. Part wonder, part pride, and all happiness, an EV grin is impossible to hide and best when shared.
WE DRIVE THE LEAF MORE THAN WE EXPECTED.
We both love the car, how it drives, and how inexpensive it is to fuel. We have two ICE cars and we find we're using them much less than we expected. Almost all our driving is with the LEAF.
