Nissan LEAF Q&A
WHAT’S IT LIKE NEVER HAVING TO STOP FOR GAS?
IT WAS REALLY WEIRD AT FIRST!
I would still look at the gas price signs habitually for about the first 3 weeks. Now I just drive by and don't even look up. The prices used to define the way I drove (to get the "cheap" gas). Overall, feels good.
WONDERFUL! I AM BLISSFULLY UNAWARE OF GAS PRICES.
It’s convenient to refuel at home. No more dirty gas pumps or waiting in line at the cheap gas station!
I NEVER NEED TO STOP AT A DINO-JUICE STATION AGAIN.
And, on top of that, the LEAF has taken a substantial load off of my wife's Minivan. So, it replaced about 1.25 ICE cars.
Internal Combustion Engine
A vehicle with an Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) that runs on gasoline.
MY HUSBAND IS GLAD I NO LONGER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY LOTTERY SCRATCHERS
at the gas station, since I don't go to the gas station anymore.
TO TELL THE TRUTH, I FEEL A LITTLE SMUG AS WE PASS BY THE GAS STATIONS.
I HATE THE GAS PUMPS.
Stinky, dirty, and gross. The charging stations are so clean and pretty. Now, if charging stations had bathrooms, we would be golden.
I FORGOT HOW TO USE THE GAS PUMP.
I'VE GOTTEN USED TO IT.
Now the idea of a gas station seems strange. So much more convenient to charge up at home.
I LIKE THE FEELING,
though I admit I still stop at gas stations to clean windshield and lights occasionally.
EV Term An environmentally-friendly vehicle powered by electricity in the form of an electric motor and battery pack. Also known as the Nissan LEAF®.
IT FEELS FABULOUS AND HAS FELT FABULOUS FROM DAY 1.
Every (s)mile I drive, I feel great knowing I've made a solid contribution to our country's energy independence, and am grateful to Nissan as the first major automaker to take the leap with the LEAF as the first prime-time highway ready EV.
FELT VERY STRANGE AT FIRST.
I would pass a gas station and get this urge to turn in. But now I am cured! It feels wonderful to bypass the congestion, smells, and everything associated with gas stations.
I LAUGH EVERY TIME I DRIVE BY A GAS STATION SIGN. WHO BUYS GAS ANYMORE?
Sometimes I even go by the gas station and I almost want to wave.
I LAUGH ANYTIME I HEAR OTHER PEOPLE MENTION GAS PRICES.
"Oh, it went up 50 cents this week? Didn't even notice..."
I've taken to calling it the "milk station" instead, since that's all I buy there now.
I ONLY GO TO A GAS STATION NOW TO WASH MY CAR!
IT HAS BECOME NORMAL, AND MY STOMACH SINKS WHEN I THINK ABOUT WHAT MY LIFE WAS LIKE WHEN I WAS DEPENDENT ON GAS.
Having to monitor your fuel gauge and determine when would be the best time to tack 15 minutes onto my trip, which station would be least inconvenient, wondering which direction someone was going to come whipping around to crash into me from. I could never go back.
I WISH EVERYONE COULD EXPERIENCE NOT HAVING TO PUMP GAS OR THINK ABOUT GAS PRICES VERY OFTEN.
IT FEELS GREAT. I ACTUALLY JUST WENT TO PUT SOME GAS INTO OUR SUV AND IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
All the pumps were full and people were cutting others off to try to get the next pump. I had to go to 3 different stations just to get gas! Filling up on electricity at home is great. No gas on your hands, no lines, no problems at all. I shake my head when passing gas stations.
FILLING UP IS A COMPLETE WASTE OF 15 MINUTES.
Plugging in takes 10 seconds max. Feels awesome.
I FEEL A FREEDOM FROM THE NEED FOR GASOLINE.
and the worry about making sure that the gas tank is full.
HA, WHO BUYS GAS ANYMORE?
I haven't even looked at a gas station since I got my LEAF except to get a car wash.
HAVEN'T BEEN TO A GAS STATION IN 2.5 YEARS.
Love filling it up at home...easy and very convenient!
No more extortion at the gas pump. Not missing stinky refueling stops.
AMAZING!! MY WIFE SAYS "WEIRD".
She still glances at the price of gas nearly a year later.
I LOVE HAVING A FUEL STATION AT MY HOUSE.
You don't realize how inconvenient it is to stop at gas stations until you stop doing it.
