Pathfinder Safety Shield® 360 and Advanced Driver Assist

Nothing feels better than peace of mind

Pathfinder puts technology to use in the best way imaginable – to help protect you and your passengers. It’s absolutely loaded with standard Safety Shield 360, and ingenious available safety features that use the latest in technology to help minimize risk on the road.[1]

What are the benefits of ProPILOT Assist and
ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link?

Pathfinder offers two ProPILOT Assist drive systems. ProPILOT Assist, and the more advanced ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link. Availability depends on the Pathfinder you choose.[2]
The Daily Commute – We’ve all experienced heavy traffic. Crawling at low speeds, inching ahead only having to stop again. It may be our daily routine – but it isn’t much fun.
With ProPILOT Assist, in stop-and-go highway driving you won’t need to constantly switch between the accelerator and brake pedal. The system will also keep you centered in your lane, reducing the need to constantly add small steering inputs. Never stress over 5pm rush hour again.[2, 3]
The Long Drive – Whether it’s a vacation getaway or just open traffic, long-distance driving has other challenges, like getting a cramp from constantly adjusting your foot on the pedals to maintain your speed and distance. Or your arms getting tired from gripping the steering wheel to constantly keep the vehicle in the lane.
ProPILOT Assist and ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link to the rescue. Now long drives are more enjoyable, so you can arrive at your weekend getaways relaxed and ready to play.[2, 3]

How do ProPILOT Assist and ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link work?

ProPILOT Assist lends a hand with daily freeway driving – helping you maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead by managing the throttle and brakes and helping you keep centered in your lane by automatically making small steering adjustments for you.[2, 3]
It can even bring you to a full stop based on the traffic flow, and if you are stopped less than 3 seconds, can bring you back up to speed when traffic starts moving again. If you’re stopped longer than 3 seconds, getting back up to speed is as simple as a push of a button.
ProPILOT Assist with Navi-link adds to the above. It syncs with Pathfinder’s navigation system for detailed mapping information, helping to better predict the road ahead. It can see things like junctions, tight curves in the road and off-ramps, slowing you down for a smoother approach. The system can also be aware of posted speed limits and can adjust your speed accordingly. In traffic jams, the system stays engaged for up to 30 seconds when you’re stopped before you’ll need to push a button to get back up to speed. All of these additional improvements allow for a more intuitive, enjoyable drive.[2, 3, 4]

Standard Nissan Safety Shield® 360

Cameras, radar technology and sonar work together to create Safety Shield 360, a comprehensive system that looks in front, behind and beside the vehicle as it drives. This suite of six standard advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility features monitors around the vehicle and can step in to help keep you safe.[1, 5]
Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection Pathfinder looks out for what’s ahead and for people crossing in front of you. Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection monitors your speed and distance between you and the car ahead, and can let you know if you need to slow down. It can also automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a frontal collision or lessen the severity of an impact. And when it detects a pedestrian or cyclist in the crosswalk, it can stop you in your tracks.[6]
Blind Spot Warning Wait. Was that a car over there? To help you change lanes with confidence, Pathfinder with Blind Spot Warning keeps an eye on the blind spot area and gives you a heads-up if it detects a vehicle hiding there.[7]
Lane Departure Warning Hold it right there. Lane Departure Warning helps make sure you change lanes only when you mean to. If the system detects that you’re drifting over, it’ll warn you with haptic feedback, which can be felt as a gentle vibration through the steering wheel.[8]
Rear Automatic Braking Save your bumper. Pathfinder with Rear Automatic Braking watches out directly behind you for stationary items you might not see. If it detects something and you fail to stop, it can automatically engage the brakes to help avoid a rear collision or lessen the severity of an impact.[9]
Rear Cross Traffic Alert Fear no parking lot. When you’re backing out of a space, Rear Cross Traffic Alert watches around the rear of your Pathfinder and can warn you about cars it detects creeping up on you from either side.[10]
High Beam Assist When activated, High Beam Assist automatically activates Pathfinder’s high beams when you need them, and deactivates them if it detects an oncoming vehicle. Which automatically makes you a more polite driver.

Advanced Driver Assist Features

Everyone wants a little help once in a while. Pathfinder uses some of the most advanced driving technology available to help give you a safer, more enjoyable drive.
Intelligent Forward Collision Warning Pathfinder is on the lookout when you can’t see what’s going on up there. The class-exclusive Intelligent Forward Collision Warning watches two cars ahead, and when it detects sudden deceleration in front of you, it gives you a warning to slow down.[11, 12]
Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention Be aware of who is nearby and help avoid a collision. If Intelligent Blind Spot Intervention detects that you’re trying to change lanes while another car is in your blind spot, it can apply the brakes and help guide your vehicle back into your lane.[3, 7]
Intelligent Lane Intervention Change lanes only when you mean to. As you drive, Intelligent Lane Intervention can detect when you unintentionally drift from your lane, causing your steering wheel to vibrate. The system can also tap the brakes to help gently guide you back.[3, 8]
Head-Up Display A technology originally developed for military aircraft to keep pilot’s eyes “out of the cockpit,” Pathfinder’s new Head-Up Display projects key info, including speed, turn-by-turn navigation directions and more onto the windshield, right into your line of sight.[3, 13]
Class-exclusive Intelligent Around View® Monitor Parking is easier than ever. Intelligent Around View Monitor gives you a virtual composite 360° birds-eye view of your Nissan Pathfinder. Selectable split-screen close-ups offer a combination of front, rear and curbside views. The display also gives you an on-screen alert when the system detects moving objects near your vehicle.[3, 14, 15, 16]
