Maintenance Alert helps you stay on top of your Nissan vehicle's maintenance requirements by notifying you when a malfunction indicator light is triggered in your vehicle. Feature Benefits

When a malfunction indicator light (MIL) is triggered in the vehicle, you can receive a notification on the MyNISSAN app.

Opt-in to share your MIL alerts with your Preferred Nissan Dealer so that they can get in touch with you in a timely manner about your vehicle maintenance needs.[[6012]]

Service Advisors can access the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard to view the MILs that have been triggered for up to 90 days and are able to reach out via email, phone, or text to set up an appointment to investigate the MIL alert.

How to Opt-in

You can opt-in to share your Vehicle Maintenance Data with your preferred Nissan Dealer in the MyNISSAN App. The opt-in card for Vehicle Maintenance Data Sharing is located in the My Dealer setting in Vehicle Preference under Vehicle Profile. The opt-in card can also be located under the Vehicle Status page when a MIL has been triggered. You will also need to set your contact preferences (email, phone, or text).[[6012]]

Boundary Alert

Stay in control of where your vehicle goes by setting a geographical driving boundary. If your vehicle enters or leaves the boundary you've set, you'll get an immediate notification. [[1189]]

How to set boundaries

Use the MyNISSAN app or MyNISSAN Owner Portal to set your boundaries—simply select an address, enter the desired radius of the boundary, and choose to set arrival, departure, or both.[[1189]]

Multiple boundary zones

Up to 10 active Boundary Alerts can be saved, with the option to name each boundary.

Notification options

If your Nissan crosses a boundary while active, an alert is sent via your preferred notification method—email, text message and/or push—set up through the MyNISSAN app or MyNISSAN Owner Portal.

In-vehicle notifications

You can choose to set up a pop-up notification in your Nissan to remind your secondary driver when the vehicle is outside an authorized drive zone or inside a prohibited one.

Curfew Alert

Establish and monitor the time and day when your vehicle should remain off and parked. [[1189]]

At home on time

Use the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal to set up your Curfew Alert. Name your alert, select the applicable days of the week, and set the start and end times. You may set two Curfew Alerts at a time.

If your vehicle is being driven past curfew, you will be notified by your preferred notification—email, text message, push and/or in-vehicle message—set up through the MyNISSAN app or MyNISSAN Owner Portal.

Set your preferences to display a 20 minute "curfew approaching" warning to remind young drivers when it’s time to head home. A small beeping sound will be triggered inside the vehicle, and a notification message will display on the NissanConnect screen.

Valet Alert

The next time you leave your keys with a parking attendant, enable a Valet Alert using your MyNISSAN app and enjoy the peace of mind that your vehicle isn’t being taken for a joyride.

If your vehicle moves outside the radius that you set, you'll receive a notification via your preferred method (email, text and/or push).

Ready to pick up your Nissan? Just use the app to disable the Valet Alert. [[1189]]

Speed Alert

Stay informed on how fast your Nissan is driven, even when you're not in the driver's seat. [[1189]]

Set speed limits

Use the MyNISSAN App or MyNISSAN Owner Portal to set a speed threshold.

Customized alerts

Select whether you want to be notified by email, text, push notification or in-vehicle message when the speed parameters you’ve set are exceeded.

Display pop-up notifications

You can also set your preferences to display a pop-up notification in the vehicle itself to remind your secondary driver to slow down when they have exceeded the established speed threshold.

Once a Boundary, Curfew or Valet Alert is triggered, will the vehicle operation change in any way?

No. The vehicle will not be immobilized or limited in any way.

Will the occupant of my vehicle be aware if they have breached the Valet boundary?

There is no notification within the vehicle. Only those drivers who have been set to receive notifications will be alerted.

Is Speed Alert influenced by local/established speed limits?

No. The Speed Alert setting is created by you and does not take into account established speed limits.

What information is shared with the Nissan Dealer when a malfunction indicator light is triggered?

The shared information may contain details such as: general location, vehicle identification number (VIN), model and model year, customer name, customer phone or email, MIL name with description (Oil pressure, Check Engine Light, ABS Warning, Brakes, Tire Pressure, and Airbag), and MIL date/time.

Do I have to opt-in to share Vehicle Maintenance Data with my preferred Nissan dealer?

Yes, in order to share the Vehicle Maintenance Data with the Dealer, you MUST opt-in, as currently the default setting is opted-out. While it is entirely up to you to share your vehicle data with your preferred Nissan Dealer, we would encourage you to opt-in to receive the benefits of this feature. If you choose not to opt-in, you will still receive notifications in the vehicle, via the MyNISSAN app and notifications as set in your preferences.

What if I am opted-in but later decide I no longer want to share Vehicle Maintenance Data with my preferred Nissan Dealer?

You may opt-out from sharing your vehicle data with your Dealer at any time. However, if there is a triggered MIL alert, the Dealer will still have access to the data for up to 90 days before it is removed from the Dealer Dashboard. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect this change.

What if I selected a preferred Nissan Dealer to share my Vehicle Maintenance Data but want to change to a different Dealer?

You are able to change your Dealer at any time if you wish to share data with a different Dealer. They would need to opt-out from sharing with the current Dealer, before selecting the new Dealer. The previous Dealer will still have access to the data for up to 90 days before it is removed from the Dealer Dashboard. The newly selected Dealer will only receive any new triggered MIL data. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect this change.

Can I wait until I arrive at the Dealer to share my Vehicle Maintenance Data?

Yes, you may opt-in at any time. However, if you opted-out and an MIL is triggered and decide to opt-in at that time, the Dealer will NOT be able to see that data. Only newly triggered MILs will be sent to the Dealer Connected Car Alerts Dashboard once they are opted-in. It may take up to 2 hours to reflect.

How long is my Vehicle Maintenance Data available to the Dealers?

The Vehicle Maintenance Data in the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard is accessible to the Dealer for up to 90 days. The data will be deleted from the Dashboard after 90 days (with no ability to look up historical data).

Where is the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard located?

The Connected Car Alerts Dashboard can be found within VCAT, under the Menu section located on the left hand side of the screen.

Who has access to the Connected Car Alerts Dashboard?

The Service Managers, Service Advisors and Technicians. However, Technicians have limited visibility to the customer's contact information.
