Connect to Wi-Fi for over the air updates
Download updates using your home Wi-Fi network or your vehicle's built-in Wi-Fi hotspot. Updates must be done over a secure network with a password.
Some over the air updates for bug fixes will be done automatically over the network without a Wi-Fi connection.
Ways to get updates
Use your secure home Wi-Fi to download over the air updates. Your vehicle must be in range and your network must be password protected.

How to update your system
If your vehicle is equipped with over the air updates, you can receive automatic or manual updates for your software system. It's a good idea to enable automatic updates so you never have to worry about driving with an outdated system.
Own a Nissan ARIYA? Please follow the instructions outlined in the Nissan ARIYA section below for update steps specific to your vehicle.
Good to know: If you're updating on the go, some other wireless features may be unavailable or may require a wired connection. Please see FAQs for additional information.
Automatic system updates
In many cases, over the air updates are automatically initiated without a Wi-Fi connection. However, if a Wi-Fi connection is required to update your system, follow the steps below:
1. Connect your vehicle to an available Wi-Fi network
2. From your NissanConnect® System screen, press Menu
3. Press Information
4. Navigate to System Information
5. Touch Software Update
6. Under Update Method confirm that the screen says “Auto”
When automatic Over The Air updates are enabled, you will receive a popup message on your NissanConnect system screen when a new update is available. Select “Yes” to accept the update.

How to Install a Software Update in Your ARIYA
Keep your ARIYA performing at its best with quick and easy software updates. When an update is available, you’ll be notified right on your vehicle’s screen. Simply follow these steps to download and install the latest improvements.
1. Watch for Update Notification
When a software update is ready, you’ll receive a notification on your ARIYA’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) screen.
2. Choose When to Update
Select “Download Now” to begin immediately or schedule the update at a convenient time.
3. Update in Progress
During installation, your vehicle’s ignition (ON) functionality will be temporarily locked for safety. Please ensure your vehicle is parked and powered off before starting.
4. Completion Confirmation
Once the update is finished, you’ll see a confirmation message on your IVI screen. Your ARIYA is now updated and ready to go!
